Part Five of END TIME SERIES► THE LESSONS WE'RE TO LEARN FROM DANIEL 5 (Lesson 3)

►Monday/Feb3/2014|||Part Five of END TIME SERIES► LESSONS WE'RE TO LEARN FROM DANIEL 5.

Lesson 3: Feasting, Instead of Fasting, In Times of Danger:

The night that King Belshazzar was FEASTING, Medo-Persian army had encamped outside the walls of Babylon, trying all means to get in. Instead of the king FASTING & PRAYING TO GOD for deliverance, he was rather FEASTING (DINING & WINING). And to worsen matters, he & his numerous wives & concubines were drinking & eating from the Holy Vessels belonging to God which Nebuchadnezzar (his grandpa) had brought to Babylon when he conquered Judah.

It's the same today; one of the characteristics of the spirit of Babylon is feasting. Many so-called Christians are following Babylonian system. When they are about to be DEFEATED, or ARE BEING DEFEATED, BY SIN; instead of FASTING & PRAYING TO GOD, they join worldly people to preoccupy themselves with entertainment. They always look AT THE CALENDAR & LISTEN TO NEWS TO FIND WHERE & WHEN THE NEXT PARTY/ENTERTAINMENT IS TAKING PLACE.

In less than two weeks, Valentine's Day is goin' to be here & U will see many Believers who, instead of praying, fasting & crying unto God to deliver them from sin, will rather join non-believers to celebrate it. Which one needs much attention: Your soul which will live forever either in Heaven or in the Lake of Fire, OR your body which will perish after death? If U are feeding your body with feasting& entertainment, whilst your soul is living in SIN, please re-arrange your priorities; Seek the Kingdom of God & His Righteousness first.

There is a difference between King Hezekiah & King Belshazzar. When enemies marched against Hezekiah, he declared nationwide fasting & prayers. He went to God's Temple & cried unto Him for deliverance. God listened to his prayers & Israel was saved (2Kings 19). When King Belshazzar learned that his enemies had encamped just outside the walls of Babylon, he behaved as if nothing was at stake; so he was feasting/partying & desecrating God's vessels, as he & his wives & concubines drank from God's cups (Daniel 5:1-4). What happened to him was that GOD WROTE his death sentence on the wall (Verse 5) & that very night, he was killed & Babylon was conquered by Medo-Persian army, led by Cyrus & his uncle Darius (Verse 30).

Ask yourself, are U like King Hezekiah who, when learned that enemy was marching against him, declared PRAYERS & FASTING & CRIED unto God for deliverance; OR like King Belshazzar who, when learned that an enemy was just behind his walls, but kept on FEASTING? Are U the type of Christian who ruthlessly deals with any sin knocking at the door by declaring prayers & fasting against it & crying unto God for Deliverance (King Hezekiah); OR the type of Christian who doesn't see any danger in sinning so keeps on FEASTING (Entertainment, parties, Wining & Dining) & allows sin to defeat him (King Belshazzar)?
