GOD RESCUED DANIEL FROM THE LIONS' DEN: THE LESSONS.

In Daniel Chapter 6 here, Babylon (Modern Day Iraq) is conquered by Medo-Persia (Modern Day Iran) is reigning. Let us now see THE LESSONS. 

(1) SERVING GOD TILL THE END: Daniel was about 17yrs when they went into captivity in Babylon. And after 70yrs, Babylon fell & a new superpower, Medo-Persia, took over. Thus Daniel was between 87yrs & 91yrs but he didn't allow his age to hinder him from being obedient to God. Many people might have backslided or retired by ages 60, 70 or 80, much less 90.

(2) PRAYER LIFE: Daniel was a prayer warrior. He was consistent. At old age, he still kept to praying style; 3 times a day - Morning, Afternoon & Evening/Night. No wonder he is a shining example for us living in these end times. We should make PRAYING our breathe; if we are to be OVERCOMERS in these end times.

(3) A CHILD OF GOD WILL ALWAYS FACE HATRED/PERSECUTION: Why was Daniel hated? Because he was a child of God & had a different character. He didn't join the crowed. He set himself apart. He loved to Obey God than Men/Kings. He was upright. Therefore, if U are a child of God and U are LOVED & ACCEPTED BY SHREWD PEOPLE, PLEASE CHECK YOUR FAITH VERY WELL; U MIGHT HAVE COMPROMISED YOURSELF ON SOME ISSUES. If U don' face any sort of Persecution or Hatred - be it at office/workplace, school, homes, etc - then re-examine your life.

(4) HATRED FOR A CHILD OF GOD CAN BRING A FALSE UNITY AMONG devil's children. The 120 Satraps/Governors UNITED with the remaining 2 Administrators. Their Unity was a false one because the motive behind it was false/wrong; they plotted & set a trap to get Daniel thrown in the Lion's Den. Similar thing happened during Jesus' trial in Luke 23:11-12 ''Then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked him. Dressing him in an elegant robe, they sent him back to Pilate. That day Herod and Pilate became friends—before this they had been enemies.'' U see, enemies can unite & persecute true children of God, just as Romans & Vatican supported Adolf Hitler to persecute the Jews. In this End Time, many false religions and false Christians can even plan together to persecute true Christians. Don' be surprised if it happens to U.

(5) GOD KNOWS HOW TO KEEP HIS OWN: Of course, as children of God, we're not promised a problem-free or tribulation-free life. We will go through a lot. But God knows how to keep us. If it is not His Will for us to be killed/hurt (as it was in the case of Shadrack, Meshack & Abed-Nego in the Fire; Daniel in the Lion's Den & Peter in the Prison), He will Rescue us. But if it is His will for us to be killed/hurt for His Glory to be manifested (as in the case of John the Baptist & James, both beheaded, Paul, stoned; the apostles, all killed in diverse ways), then He will give us THE FAITH & STRENGTH TO GO THROUGH. So let's prepare for Both: If God saves us from death, we welcome it; If He allows us to be put to death, we also receive it with Joy. AMEN.

(6) GOD IS IN CHARGE OF HISTORY: God wanted Daniel to be part of the government of this new superpower (Medo-Persia) so as to POSITIVELY INFLUENCE THE KINGS (Darius & Cyrus) TO SEND THE JEWS BACK IN FULFILLMENT OF WHAT PROPHETS SUCH AS ISAIAH & JEREMIAH FORETOLD. We read from Daniel 6V28 that Daniel prospered during the reign of the joint head of Darius (the Medes) & Cyrus (the Persian).

(7) GOD CAN USE A HEATHEN PERSON TO ACCOMPLISH HIS PURPOSE: King Cyrus & his uncle Darius were heathen. the religion of their countries was Zoroastrianism. Yet they didn't follow that false religion; they served the God of Daniel. Cyrus was really chosen by God. The Return of the Jews Back to Judah, was spearheaded by King Cyrus, who was positively influenced by Daniel. Ezra 1:1-11 reads ''In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing: “This is what Cyrus king of Persia says:

“‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. Any of his people among you may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the Lord, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem, and may their God be with them. And in any locality where survivors may now be living, the people are to provide them with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem. Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites—everyone whose heart God had moved—prepared to go up and build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem. All their neighbors assisted them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with valuable gifts, in addition to all the freewill offerings. Moreover, King Cyrus brought out the articles belonging to the temple of the Lord, that Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of his god. Cyrus king of Persia had them brought by Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah. This was the inventory: gold dishes 30...silver dishes 1,000...silver pans 29...10 gold bowls 30...matching silver bowls 410...other articles 1,000...

In all, there were 5,400 articles of gold and of silver. Sheshbazzar brought all these along with the exiles when they came up from Babylon to Jerusalem''

Dear Reader, GOD IS THE ONLY ONE WE CAN PUT OUR TRUST IN. HE IS IN FULL CONTROL OF EVENTS. Of course, the devil is doin' all that he could, But GOD IS IN CONTROL OF AFFAIRS. He predicted the King Cyrus was the one who would bring His people back and it happened exactly that. Glory to God that Daniel was chosen to influence the King, positively.
