(THE BOOK OF DANIEL: Chapter One)...Message Four: Third Mark of an Overcomer: ''HE DOESN'T COMPROMISE''
Thousands of people were sent into exile in Babylon--including priests, prophets, preachers, dreamers etc. Yet ALL Were COMPROMISERS; THEY COULDN'T REJECT THE ROYAL FOOD. Only four (4) people DIDN'T COMPROMISE; Daniel & his three friends. Be bold & take a stance! Don' follow the multitude to sin.
Do U know that (i) Adam & Eve were tempted by Satan on Food? (ii) Do U know that in the wilderness, Jesus was first tempted on FOOD? It's therefore no surprising that Daniel & his three friends were also tempted first on Food. Adam & Eve failed their Test, but Jesus Christ passed. And as we've seen earlier, Daniel & his three friends also passed so God could vouch for them & allowed the three men to be Tested WITH FIRE & Daniel to be Tested WITH DEATH (WHEN HE WAS THROWN INTO THE LIONS' DEN), as we'll see along the line. If U compromise yourself & cannot pass the basic test such as appetite for food; how can U pass the tests on sex, money, fame/pride, or when U are threatened with imprisonment or death? If U can't control your appetite for food, U'll find it difficult to control your libido (sexual urges), love for money, pride/fame. U cant't even go to prison or be killed for the sake of Christ? Think about it carefully, don' be a glutton.
Daniel & his three friends were less than 30yrs at this time. David was 30yrs when he became King. Jesus was also 30yrs when He started His earthly ministry. This should tell us that God can use anyone who who will RESOLVE NOT TO COMPROMISE, no matter the person's age. U don't need to be 40, 50 or 60 before U can avail yourself as vessel for God to use. The Time is ALWAYS NOW! DARE TO BE DIFFERENT. DON'T COMPROMISE, EVEN IF EVERY CHRISTIAN IS COMPROMISING.
